Hey, girls! Before we realized it, the real fall had started here in Slovakia. We don’t know about you, but we love fall! Besides the fact that we finally stop sweating in high temperatures, it also has beautiful colors and is very photogenic. There’s nothing more romantic than staying in bed all day, drinking tea, reading books and watching movies when the weather is bleak. Oh, what a beautiful picture! Fall is the herald of Christmas because with October we have the chance to prepare for them and buy some presents. And of course, there’s one more popular holiday connected with fall, Halloween! And that’s what’s our post dedicated to today. Read until the end and win something awesome! 🙂

Halloween has started appearing in the recent few years but in the other parts of the world it’s a traditional and historical holiday.  The word ‘Halloween’ is actually a shortened version of ‘All Hallows’ Evening’. It’s a pagan’s holiday (perhaps that’s why it hasn’t been around for so long in here) and its origin goes all the way to the old Celtic nation.

The Celts, who lived in today’s Ireland, celebrated New Year on November 1, 2000 year ago, because this was the time when summer officially ended and cold and grim winter began. They believed that on the night between October 31 and November 1, the souls of the dead were coming back to take control of anything live. People put on scary masks for the night, because they wanted the evil ghosts to like them, hoping, they’d leave them alone. Later, the holiday became really commercialized, mostly because of the costumes and parties.

We can’t be behind here in Slovakia and that’s is the reason why Halloween parties are not extraordinary anymore! It all started with costumes, that people wanted to be interesting in, today’s it’s all about make-up! So, for those of you who are heading to a great Halloween party, we have a great idea how to doll yourselves up!

We asked our friend and an amazing make-up artist, Veronika Vargová, and prepared a small tutorial how to do your make-up for this scary celebration. And if you are not able to do it yourselves, let us know and we will make you an appointment with Veronika. 🙂

Here, Katka was still feeling like herself. 😀 Everything was done at Veronika’s make-up studio in Bratislava.

You can’t go without a striking make-up with high coverage to a Halloween party! Therefore, Veronika used heavy thick eyeliner for the eyes and fake eyelashes.

And the masterpiece started coming together! She used face colors.

So, what do you think of the result?

By the way, next week our little baby Kattivka, as we are used to call our company, is moving to new premises, that will be introduced to you soon. Veronika will be our neighbor and we are already preparing various interesting events, which you will be to take part in, together with us and we will definitely have a lot of fun!

And not to forget, we’re having a giveaway for a bum bag from our new collection! Simply, leave us a comment with your idea for a blog post. What would you like to hear about in the future? The winner will be announced in next week’s post!

Halloween’s here in a week, so don’t forget to get ready and have a great time!

Have a wonderful Sunday!
