Hey girls! Last week’s interview was hugely successful, so we decided to continue. This time the roles changed, hope you enjoy it as well! Iva asks questions, Katka answers. 🙂

When you asked me, what has changed in my life, I said that almost everything. Has it been the same for you?

Well, I have to say, that my case is very similar… The past few years really have been ‘life-changing’. A year ago, I decided to go into dancing ‘retirement’ and I consider it as one of the most important decisions of my life. I kind of live a normal life now and that’s quite new for me, being an ex-dancer, even strange. Let’s take the free evenings or weekends for example, I’ve never had that before. And it’s amazing! Besides that, I started learning French and it’s been a lot of fun for me. After English, Hungarian and Italian, it makes it my fourth language.

So, what is keeping you busy these days?

I don’t even know how it happened, but our tiny e-shop has become my full-time job. Well, yours too. I dedicate most of my time to our ‘baby’ Kattiva, how we call it. I enjoy it and even enrolled at a second university because of that to study Fashion Business. It’s very interested and when I stop thinking about the fact that I’m the second oldest in the class, it’s necessary to say, that it has really given me a lot. I might be a student forever, but there’s always something new to learn, right?

Agreed, I just don’t understand how you’ve got time for all of that…

I stand by the opinion ‘where there’s a will, there’s a way’. It’s all about some time management and prioritizing. Since I love the job at Kattiva, I don’t have a problem to do it even in my free time. I see my future in it and I cherish the opportunity that I can apply the thing from my university right into my profession. I want to do it professionally and perfectly, not only hit and miss. I can’t do things half-assed, you know me.

And you don’t dance at all?

Of course I do! It’s not so easy to stop this ‘drug’! However, at the moment I focus mostly on choreography and being the producer of DanceCool Crew dance group. When coming up with new choreographies I couldn’t feel more comfortable, I don’t even know where I get all the ideas, but it’s somewhere there in the back of my head. Now it’s my on-the-side job, because it’s just one at a time and it doesn’t take up so much of my time.

Tell our girls, what are your responsibilities in our company?

I gotta say, that I’m really grateful for all your photoshoots, first of all, everything looks great on you and secondly, I’m not a fan of being photographed! What do I do at Kattiva? With you being abroad, I primarily manage all our staff. You can also add marketing and account management to my job description as well as looking for new ideas or improvement. Of course, you do it too, but from a different perspective. I love our customers, they motivate me and I want them to have the best feeling and experience when on our e-shop.

Do you enjoy working with me?

To be honest, I think it’s very difficult to find such a perfect match as we are. I’d say I’m very lucky to have you as my business partner/colleague. You are very detail-oriented, sometimes more sensible and mainly more economical. I need to do a bunch of things at once and have everything done as soon as possible. I’m super-dynamic, I think I took this after my grandma, who’s the same. I have no idea what boredom is and I never have time for anything! Now, I’m not sure if that’s good or bad, but I think we complete each other, because I rush you all the time and you check my work. But you know what’s the most important thing for me? That we are both hard-working. I remember when we were starting the company, many were laughing at us, dancers selling tattoos was a joke for them. We didn’t take it personally and worked even harder. Now we have an e-shop full of hip jewelry and it’s all our own project without a single investor.

Not that many people know, that you’re quite a good writer. This was another match for us! All of the blogposts are written by you and I take the pictures… Isn’t that amazing?

I’ve always loved writing, I just didn’t know what exactly to write about. When we decided to start blogging, I was happy to take the part of the writer. I’m not sure where this talent comes from, but I can’t get enough of writing and it truly makes me happy when our girls like the articles. On the other hand, I’m so glad that you are in charge of the photos because I’m too impatient for that.

Would you be willing to tell us some little secret?

Well, I don’t know, I think it’s a bit crazy that when I was 15, I cut my hair and dyed it red because it was in fashion in dance sport at that time and I wanted to be ‘in’. It was quite a disaster, but I spent a couple years with that haircut. I looked like a 40-year-old woman, oh, but whatever, it was my style. Dance over everything!

I have to mention your dog, Harry, because you often post pictures of him on Instagram and I’m always laughing out loud. He’s almost like a human!

Don’t need to tell me! Harry’s the style! I mean, I know that everybody is crazy about their dog(s), but whoever meets Harry always has the same opinion: He is a human in dog’s body! He’s very smart and well-behaved and just a lot of fun. He’s  27kg, but thinks he’s a Chihuahua. He doesn’t eat dry dog food unless there’s truffle or olive oil inside. If not that, then at least an egg. He even likes vegetables. And you know what? He talks to us. Alright, don’t think I’m insane ‘cause I talk about a dog this way, it’s all with a good sense of humor, but those of you who follow me or him on Instagram know, that he’s funny dude. Yes, he does have his own Instagram account: @harry_oneandonly

She really isn’t crazy! I don’t get one thing though, over the period of time, skin should be getting worse but with you it’s the complete opposite. I have to admit, I’m a bit jealous of your amazing skin that you don’t even need make-up for!

Oh Jeez, this always makes my day! My skin really did get a lot better after I change my diet. You had health issues for the diet, in my case, my husband played a big role, because he’s a healthy-diet freak and an amazing cook! I’ve already told him that he needs to come up with some recipes, particularly for our blog. Back to the point now. I eat almost no flour, sugar but do eat plenty of vegetables, almost 80% of my diet. The season of asparagus is approaching and I can’t wait how I’m going to share some recipes with the girls, because it’s does wonders regarding skin and weight-loss. And of course, I remove my make-up every evening and when it’s not needed I prefer not wearing make-up at all, so my skin gets some rest. I also adore various face masks!

Do you have any spare time to exercise? What do you love doing?

It depends, sometimes I exercise more and sometimes less. You know what? I’m a bit of a couch potato and there always needs to be something more for me in it. I can’t just go to the gym and exercises like crazy to have muscles, it’s really not for me. Last winter I discovered hot yoga and it’s great! Besides making your body stronger and detox of your inner-self, one also gets some mental rest. You actually inspired me with you, so thank you. Maybe now I’ll inspire more girls. In summer and spring months I often run. When I run it’s only in the nature, it really fills me up with energy. Last year we started cycling with my husband and parents. Again, there’s some added value when you’re on the bike, the value being time spent with the closest ones and you get to explore new places too. And the cherry on top is lunch we always have after the ride. And of course, dancing takes my mind off everything.

Tell us your secret wish!

If I tell it to you, it’s not going to be secret anymore, is it? I would like to combine family and work life in the future. I know it’s very difficult, that’s why I admire all the women that manage to do it! The work life should be Kattiva, I’d like to decorate our office and build a brand all Slovak ladies will be proud of. If we keep doing it with the same amount of love and passion like now, I think my wish will come true…

Katka, thank you for these encouraging words and I wish you a great Sunday! Feel free to leave a comment with ideas for future topics, we also need some inspiration!

And check out our new collection of massive jewelry ‘BE VISIBLE’ we’ve just posted. 🙂
